From November 29th to December 2nd, 2023, Gamers Association Ghana, represented by Eyram Tawia, its founding executive and co-founder of Leti Arts, an Accra-based game studio, attended the Africa Games Week held in Cape Town, South Africa.
The event convened various stakeholders from the African Game Industry to network and exchange knowledge on the games market in the region. It also presented an opportunity for industry stakeholders to showcase their exceptional talent and discuss common challenges while chartering paths to greater success.
Eyram, accompanied by the lead artist of Leti Arts, Kwadwo Frimpong Amaning, showcased some remarkable works produced by exceptional talents from the Gamers Association Ghana. Eyram also played a pivotal role at the event as a panelist on the Epic Games Talk discussion, which delved into the nuances of establishing gaming businesses in Africa by addressing subjects such as funding and sustainability.
During the event, the first African Games Industry Report, produced by Maliyo Games, was launched, signifying a critical step in the advancement of the industry through the provision of key data, insights, and critical analysis, useful for policymakers and other industry enthusiasts.
The duo described the event as 'more than just a conference.' For them, it was a celebration of the industry’s growth and a testament to the unity that exists in the African gaming industry.
